How it works — please read

The tracker is powered by your car's 12V socket. In most cars that socket switches off with the ignition, so the tracker stops reporting once you park. Its last recorded location is where you parked, which is exactly what you need to walk back to it. In cars where the socket stays live with the ignition off, it keeps reporting.

It uses the Find My and Find Hub networks rather than GPS, reporting its location when a nearby phone passes by — constantly in towns and cities, less often in remote areas.

This is a parking-location aid, not a vehicle-recovery system. If your car is moved while the socket is unpowered, the tracker cannot report where it has gone. For live vehicle tracking you need a GPS unit with a SIM card and its own power supply.
